Synopsis
Faced with Ryō's provocations, Arata exploded in an emotional outburst.

Plot[]
With Arata looking at him dumbfounded Ryō continues his provocation, saying that he could use the opportunity given by Arata hurting Chizuru to get closer to her. As Arata has already been suspecting that Chizuru might be in love with Ryō, he pushes the idea until Arata reaches his limit and forcefully pins Ryō against the wall by his collar. Ryō calms Arata down, admitting that he was just pushing his buttons to get a reaction out of him. He also points out that while this was not the first time he has done it, this is the angriest Arata has gotten so far.
Ryō reminds Arata of his own words to the class at the start of the festival project, that everyone should do the best they can with the time they have before becoming adults. Arata snaps at him that it would be pointless for him to confess to Chizuru he loves her or to get more involved with anyone else, as it is all going to be erased when the experiment ends. Ryō tries to help Arata realize that it is exactly why he should be getting more involved using reverse psychology, telling him that he can do whatever he pleases, as the ReLIFE Laboratory will get the data from his experiment either way, but hoping Arata would understand that it would be better for him as well.
Outside the locker room An has been making sure no-one gets in while Ryō has his talk with Arata. Ryō admits that he got more worked up than he should have, but he believes he got Arata to reconsider his situation. An notes that she indeed prefers it when Ryō acts on the spur of the moment.
