Plot[]
Continuing the talk about what happened during the festival, Ryō says it should be obvious that the person Chizuru has feelings for is Arata, not him. Arata still thinks that Chizuru could have asked anyone to touch her, however Ryō reminds him that she was not too happy about being touched by the university boys. As Ryō comments that considering his reaction to him provoking Arata earlier by saying he was going to take Chizuru for himself Arata remained quite calm with the boys, Arata reveals that he was only able to control himself because he had to get Chizuru away from them peacefully.
Arata then admits he is in love with Chizuru, and says that as an adult he should be embarrassed for having feelings for a high school girl, but he does not want it to hold him back from enjoying his experiment since everything is going to disappear in the end no matter what. Ryō starts pushing Arata to confess his love to Chizuru, which Arata says he is not going to do. Ryō then suggests it is more likely to have regrets about things you leave undone than ones that you do, and tells Arata he believes that while it is important to protect oneself, it can make life very dull if taken too far.
Arata realizes how being afraid of joining another company was what eventually led to his becoming a NEET and a ReLIFE subject, and he jokingly admits the truth in Ryō's words. Ryō immediately resumes provoking Arata to take action with Chizuru, giving Arata instant regrets for telling him about his feelings.
