Plot[]
On a lunch break, Kazuomi is looking like he is feeling down and Arata again tries to encourage him to talk about what is on his mind. Kazuomi says he is fine, and asks if Arata and An are going to the internal university. As Arata wonders if he is asking because he is thinking about what Kariu's plans are, Kazuomi first hesitates and then tells them that he is thinking if he should go to Aoba university as there are examination fees he has to pay if he wants to go to an external university.
Arata tries to convince Kazuomi that paying the examination fees is worth it if that is what he wants to do, and to at least discuss it with his parents. An listens with a sad look on her face and then wonders if Kazuomi's silver pin would help with the fees. He tells her it is no help with external universities, but talking about the silver pin reminds him of his counseling meeting earlier with Ms. Amatsu.
In the meeting Ms. Amatsu encouraged him to apply to the university he wants to go to. She then told him that while she never met Kazuomi's brother she heard he was an exceptional student and used to have the silver pin just like Kazuomi, and paid for his tuition with scholarships and was exempted from costs at Aoba university. He was also given a lot of freedom when he decided to pursue a job at one of the top companies. She then asked how Kazuomi's brother is doing, inadvertently hitting a sore spot.
