Characters[]

Plot[]

Arata is writing the reflective statement assigned by Ms. Amatsu, finding it unreasonable as it is in reality legal for him to smoke. However, remembering how he was ordered unfairly in working life too, he understands he has to follow the school rules now. He then recalls Ms. Amatsu's warning that smoking is bad for a high schooler's body, and calls Ryō to ask about it. Ryō relieves him by telling that the pill only changed his appearance, not his body constitution, and adds that the company can deliver cigarettes and alcohol to him as it will be hard to buy them with his current appearance.

Changing the subject to Arata's first school day, Ryō points out that he seemed to have fun, and that he was impressed by Arata's ability to go with the flow of situations as they came up. He teases Arata about exchanging numbers with Chizuru, but then adds that he was actually happy to see them together as during their previous year in the same class Chizuru was always alone, and seeing her smile is actually very rare. In his report to the company he notes Arata's high communication skills and how everyone else had fun around him too, despite his plans to keep his distance from others.

After the call ends, Arata receives a text from Chizuru thanking him for earlier in a very businesslike style, but adding a cat emoji following the messaging guide she found on the internet. She smiles at Arata's response that her message made him happy as he was feeling anxious about school. When Arata adds that he thought the cat looked a bit like her she responds with just “Meow”, making Arata crack up, finding her unexpected weird side cute. However, noticing his own reaction and remembering his heart skip a beat upon hearing how rare it was for Chizuru to smile, he pushes away the weird ideas he blames Ryō for being sadistic to put in his mind.

In his report, Ryō notes that Arata has a very nice and caring personality, which may also be due to the influence of being surrounded by younger high schoolers. He starts to type something about the lack of success with Subject No. 001, but then erases it and instead ends the report noting that he is certain that Arata is going to complete the ReLIFE program.
