Synopsis
Chizuru and Ryō suppress their conflicted feelings about the approaching end of the ReLIFE experiment, letting Arata spend the remainder of his ReLIFE hopeful of being able to meet Chizuru again.

As Arata tells Chizuru that he cannot kiss her until she becomes an adult, Chizuru thinks to herself that the reason she wanted to do it now is just that it is the only chance she will get due to the approaching end of the experiment. Despite her disappointment she smiles at Arata and promises to wait for that day. Arata also gives Chizuru his promise, resolved to make sure they meet again after the experiment.
Later, lying in her bed and holding the phone strap Arata gave her in her hand, Chizuru remembers Arata cheerfully saying he will see her later as they parted. She thinks it must have been just a normal day for him, whereas there is no "later" for her.
When the ReLIFE experiment was being planned, the chiefs discussed ways to get subjects to want to change themselves during the experiment, as their time as a NEET will have made it likely that they give up easily. They agreed that during the experiment the subjects will need to learn a well-regulated way of life and to be a part of a group of people that will help them learn to correct themselves. They would also need to have rules that will help them get through life so they can start thinking about their own future again.
In the ReLIFE office Ryō writes a report on Arata, summarizing that his ReLIFE has been a success and they will be recommending him to a company for a job. He thinks that everything is going smoothly with Arata's experiment apart from him being unaware that he is most likely going to forget about Chizuru when it ends. As An asks him if he thinks they did everything they could about it, remembering Kento telling him not to lose his way, Ryō says he believes so. He then thanks An for having been there for him, and tells her he might not have been able to keep lying to Arata and Chizuru is he was working alone.
Ryō remembers Arata telling him of his decision to see Chizuru again after the experiment even if she forgets him. In his mind he apologizes to Arata for hiding the truth, thinking he may never be able to do it directly or explain it to him as after the experiment Arata may not even be aware that he has forgotten someone important.
