Main article: Report 3/Transcript
As Arata wonders about the stranger, he introduces himself as Ryō Yoake representing the ReLIFE Laboratory, and tells Arata he has come to ask him to participate as a subject in an experiment. Ryō reveals that he already knows a lot about Arata - including his being a NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training), to Arata’s annoyment.
Ryō presents Arata with his offer: the company wants him to go back to high school for one year, and in return they will pay all his expenses for the duration of the experiment and recommend him for a job in a company after it is over. While Arata finds the offer very tempting, which Ryō is aware of, he is also shocked about the experiment and wonders how would it even be possible. In proof, Ryō gives him a pill developed by the ReLIFE Laboratory that will make him look like a high schooler.
Arata remains doubtful, but Ryō shows he knows which strings to pull with him by taunting him again about his miserable situation. As Arata starts to get worked up, Ryō takes his leave, and instructs him to take the pill when he decides to co-operate. He also reminds Arata of his situation and of everything he has to gain from the experiment. In his report to his company, Ryō writes that he is certain that Arata will participate.
