Plot[]
Ryō is making notes about the students Arata has become involved with during the first month of his experiment for his files. He writes that Arata already has a circle of friends and notes that he is very different from his previous subject, who had at this point in the experiment shown no signs of adapting to their new environment. He also notes that while Arata's mood seems to have improved compared to his NEET life, like Ryō himself, he seems to be concerned about Rena's state of mind.
On the way to school in the morning Arata sees Chizuru and goes to talk with her. Arata asks her if she always walks to school alone, and as she in turn asks if it is strange Arata tells her that he is always alone too. Chizuru is about to say something but then notices the bandage covering the wound on Arata's cheek and notes that it appears to be healing rather slowly for a high school student. Though Arata is jolted by Chizuru's comment hitting close to the truth, he covers it up with the explanation that it is because the wound was so big.
Arata and Chizuru walk together the rest of the way to school. As they approach the lockers Rena sees Chizuru's real smile as she talks with Arata, and notices the huge difference compared with the unnatural smiles Chizuru has been showing her. At the lockers Chizuru greets Rena with yet another of those smiles, and Rena concludes that despite how she seems, Chizuru must be the kind of girl who only smiles nicely when there are men around.
