Adult Perspective ( () (とな) () (せん) , Otona Mesen) is the thirty-fourth chapter of ReLIFE.

Synopsis

Ryō declines Arata's request to have lunch together with Chizuru, and reminds him that solving others' problems for them is not necessarily in their best interest. Privately Arata wonders about the point of being concerned for his classmates as they will only be together for a short time, but Ryō believes it is a good thing for another reason.

Plot[]

Arata asks Ryō over the phone to have lunch together with Chizuru, and while Ryō tells him again that he has to eat alone in order to be able to observe his subject, Arata stays insistent. Ryō changes the subject, wondering what has happened for Arata to have started to worry for his classmates despite his initial plan to stay as uninvolved as possible during his ReLIFE. He continues that he thinks Arata's concern is a good thing, but he also wonders if solving others' problems for them is actually good for them, as it is important to learn to keep moving forward despite your mistakes while you're still young.

After the phone call, Arata himself also thinks about his newfound concern for his classmates, and remembers Ryō wondering if he isn't taking their problems too seriously. Arata notes that while getting a chance to relive a part of his youth is something that every grown-up would want, it is a waste to get too involved as every person he befriends will forget about him in the end.

Ryō for his part is somewhat amused by Arata's concern. However, he believes it is a good thing and a result of his having started to react with his heart instead of his head. In his mind he encourages Arata to keep struggling as much as possible, and strengthen his heart against the coldness of the world. In his report Ryō anticipates that the issues Arata has been worrying about are headed towards a big conflict soon enough.
