Plot[]
On their way back from Michiru Saiki's grave Ryō receives a message from An. She asks how the meeting with Zen and Rumi went, confirming Arata's suspicion that Ryō had something to do with it. The request he made to An concerning his grave visit with Arata earlier at the ReLIFE office was to keep tabs on Zen and Rumi and report the time they would be arriving at the graveyard.
Ryō researched Zen and Rumi and knew they had been visiting Michiru's grave, so he expected them to also do so on the anniversary of her death. From eavesdropping on a conversation between them Ryō also knew how they felt about the company and Arata quitting his job after Michiru's death, and that they would appreciate having a chance to have a talk with him.
Ryō arranged the meeting to give Arata a push to look forward in his life a little more. An found this to be an unusual degree of involvement from Ryō, however he himself thought it was not too much to just set up the meeting as the rest would be up to Arata.
After Ryō has responded to An's message, telling her his talk with Zen and Rumi seemed to help Arata gain some clarity about his feelings, Arata says he does not mind it if Ryō set up the meeting as he was happy to hear his and Michiru's resistance was not entirely in vain. He adds that thanks to the conversation he no longer feels obligated to second-guess his decision to leave the company, and that he was finally able to also tell it to Michiru during the internal conversation he was having with her at her grave. Understanding that he was able to do it because of his being a subject in the ReLIFE experiment Arata gives Ryō his thanks, albeit somewhat uneasily, but Ryō also feels Arata's progress has in turn helped him move forward.
