Plot[]
Since the school cafeteria is closed during vacation, Arata and Kazuomi have lunch in the classroom. Kazuomi impresses Arata with the revelation that he is quite good at cooking, and tells him he makes something for his father every day. Arata, on the other hand, fails to impress Kazuomi by having failed the catch-up tests again.
After they have finished eating Arata decides to start a discussion about love with Kazuomi, and asks if he has ever gone out with a girl. Kazuomi tells him he hasn't, despite several having confessed their feelings to him. As Kazuomi returns the same question to Arata his honest answer that he has adds strength to Kazuomi's impression of Arata as being good with girls.
As Arata tries to find out if there is a girl Kazuomi likes he finds that he has to make things abundantly clear with him due to his obliviousness to matters of the heart. He leads Kazuomi to think if there is someone whose disappearance from his life he would dread, who he thinks about often and who he finds interesting and funny, and in his mind Kazuomi finds that all these things apply to Rena. As Arata starts to up the ante to not wanting someone else to take her away from him, holding hands, kissing and eventually sleeping with her, Kazuomi's pure ears have heard enough. Extremely embarrassed, Kazuomi denies seeing the girl he thought about that way, and Arata feels there is little doubt about who he had in mind.
Arata points out to Kazuomi that while studying is important he thinks love is important too. Kazuomi then uneasily asks if Arata has ever done things like kissing with a girl, and is flustered by Arata somewhat smugly telling him that he has.
